Botanical Description

Tufted perennial, 15-3 0cm in height. Leaves succulent, 10-15cm long, oblanceolate, the upturned margins bearing small lobes, glandular pubescent and rank-smelling. Flowerheads just above the leaves, solitary, bright yellow, 3-5cm in diameter, late summer. California, Oregon, Montana and Nevada, in alpine fellfields up to 5000m.
