Halimiocistus Species in
Family: Cistaceae

Several bigeneric hybrids between Halimium and Cistus, of which at least two are believed to be natural wild crosses, from southwestern Europe.

Small evergreen shrubs, highly decorative, mostly resembling Cistus, suitable for sunny well-drained positions in the rock garden, lime-tolerant but probably better in a humus-rich soil. Most are killed by prolonged severe frost. Propagation is by soft cuttings in the spring or half-ripe wood after the main flowering, which is from May to early July.
