Botanical Description

Trailing subshrub forming loose patches to 2m diameter. Growth is from tips of shoots and by new shoots from base of central stem. Leaves spreading, 5-15mm long. Leaves and stems covered in thick fawn to brick-red down. Propagation by seed or cuttings. Altitude range 1300-2000m, often in association with H. pulvinaris but able to grow on less stable screes.
