Irregularly mat-forming, 7-10cm tall and 30cm across in time. Young stems and leaves with appressed silky hairs. Leaves 2-9mm long, narrowly elliptic. Flowers solitary in the terminal leaf axils about 1cm long, yellow. Mountains of southeastern France, western Yugoslavia and Albania. Often in open arid places. One of the smallest species and well worthy of planting more often as a rock garden shrublet.
