Densely tufted with stems to 3cm long. Leaves in whorls of six, crowded and overlapping, 5-7.5mm long, narrowly awl to needle-like with a long bristle tip. Flowers solitary or in clusters of up to three, white, 3-4mm across. Turkey, in the mountains of north-west Anatolia in scree and rock crevices at 2300-2500m. Closely related to G. palaeoitalicum and G. pyrenaicum.
