Botanical Description

Stems 4-6cm high. Leaves four to seven all close enough together to appear basal, to 4mm wide, spreading to prostrate. Flowers one to four, on downy pedicels 2-4cm across, yellow, green in bud, the tepals narrowly lanceolate. North Africa, Greece and adjacent islands, Cyprus, Turkey, Caucasia, Iran, Turkestan, Arabia, in dunes, steppe, limestone slopes, often in Pinus brutia forest or Quercus coccifera scrub.
