Botanical Description

Bulb with numerous rice-grain bulblets. Stem 30-90cm tall. Leaves around middle of stem, in one to three whorls of three to five, linearlanceolate. Flowers three to twenty in a loose raceme, open campanulate, greenish-yellow to brownish, faintly tessellated; scent not recorded. Tepals about 1.2-2cm, with a lanceolate or triangular nectary near the base. Style slender, trifid, the branches recurved. Capsule broadly six-winged. Central California, in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada, from Nevada to Fresno counties, in dry, open pine-oak woodland, at 300-1800m.
