Botanical Description

Bulb ovate, with several scales, to 2cm across. Stem 4-10cm in height. Leaves two to four, glaucous, alternate, lanceolate, often recurved. Flowers one to four, broadly campanulate, yellow, sometimes mottled with brown, rarely all brownish; scent not recorded. Tepals 1.5-2cm long, with a lanceolate to elliptical yellow or red spotted nectary above the base. Style to 1.2cm, trifid, the branches 6-9mm long. Capsule angled, not winged. Southern Oregon and Northern California south to Lake County, on rocky slopes and screes, often on serpentine, at 1000-2000m.
