A hummock or bushlet to 30cm high by more across. Leaves 2-4mm long, very narrow with rolled under margins, in the wild at least, covered with a white crust. Flowers 6-9mm in diameter, light rose-purple, solitary or in small nodding clusters. Spain except in the north, in saline areas.
