Botanical Description

forming mats or low mounds, the stems decumbent to 15cm or more in height. Leaves linear-lanceolate to narrowly so, 3-7cm long, the lowest withering but not falling. Flowers 1.5-2cm in diameter, bright yellow. California, sandy and stony ground by the sea. E.s. var. grandifolia is a larger, more sprawling and somewhat succulent plant; only in Santa Barbara and San Luis Obispo counties.
