Similar to E. gracilis but with relatively broader leaves and the bracts of the flowerheads covered with glandular and spreading hairs (those of E. gracilis are bristly and scarcely or not at all glandular). Western U.S.A. at alpine and subalpine elevations in meadows and on stony slopes.
