Botanical Description

with decumbent stems semi-woody at base, forming low mounds 45-90cm across. Leaves evergreen if winter frosts are not severe, spathulate to obovate, 6-12cm long, toothed or entire, more or less glaucous. Flowerheads 3.5-6.5cm across, the rays pale violet to lavender. California, in coastal dunes, beaches and sandhills mainly below 170m E.g. 'Albus', has white rays, those of 'Elstead Pink', are clear lilac-pink, and in 'Roseus', they are true pink.
