perennial or biennial, loosely mat-forming with procumbent, sparsely leafy stolons to 20cm long. Leaves oblanceolate, up to 5cm long. Flowerheads usually solitary on erect stems, 10-30cm tall, 1.5-2cm in diameter, the rays white or light purple. Western U.S.A., plains to subalpine zones in meadows and by streams.
