Botanical Description

Fibrous rooted, the erect stems 50-150cm tall. Leaves bipinnate, glaucous, the leaflets cut into narrow lobes. Flowers narrow, to 1.5cm long, bright yellow, erect, in panicles to 30cm in height. California on dry slopes below 1700m in scrub and open pine forest. Very distinct with its panicles of erect flowers. Not easy to grow and best in a compost of humus and grit in an alpine house.
