Botanical Description

Corm tunic parallel fibre with some reticulation at the apex. Leaves three to six deep green produced with or shortly after the flowers. Flowers 10-13cm tall, white or cream with a yellow, rarely white, throat, white anthers, and yellow styles with three frilled branches, autumn to winter. Syria, Lebanon, Israel, in rocky places in scrub at 300-1500m. A pleasant if not spectacular species easily cultivated in the open garden and spreading by cormlets and seed.
