Botanical Description

Corm tunic finely reticulate. Leaves five to eight dark green l-2mm wide, with flowers. Flowers 10-15cm high, white, occasionally pale lilac, with prominent yellow throat the styles orange or red, much divided, autumn. Southern Green, olive groves or scrub. Easily grown without protection but pot cultivation allows its handsome late-autumn flowers to be enjoyed undamaged by weather.
