Botanical Description

Corm tunic finely fibrous with some reticulation near the apex. Leaves three to five grey-green 1-2.5mm in width, rounded underneath and somewhat resembling that of C. carpetanus. Flowers 8-10cm tall, white or lilac sometimes with a greenish bronze suffusion on the outside with or without purplish veins, winter to spring. Spain, Algeria, Morocco, meadows and rocky slopes, 500-2300m. Not an exciting species but some forms flower in December or January and so are useful. Best in bulb frame or pots.
