Botanical Description

Corm tunic fibrous with some reticulation. Leaves four to six up to 3mm wide more or less appearing with the flowers. Flowers 8-12cm tall, pale or deep lilac or deep purple with or without external purple veining, fragrant, autumn. Southern Italy, Sicily, Malta, in rocky places up to 2000m. Grows well without protection in the open garden but benefits from protection against wind and rain.
