Botanical Description

Corm tunic parallel fibre membrane. Leaves three to seven, dark green appearing with the flowers. Flowers about 9cm high, white with various patterns of purple markings outside, the anthers normally dark purple, fragrant, late autumn to winter. Israel and Lebanon, rocky places at low altitude. An attractive and useful species but not frost hardy.
