Botanical Description

Corm tunic smooth coriaceous. Leaves four to six. Flowers 13-18cm tall, with white throat and long perianth tube, autumn. Southern Greece, by dry stone walls and under olive and fig trees up to 750m in limestone country. Easily grown but being so tall is readily damaged by wind and rain. A good white form ('Mani White') is in cultivation. [Pl.131]
