Botanical Description

Corm tunic coarsely reticulate. Leaves grey-green, 1mm wide. Flowers 5- 7cm high, golden-yellow sometimes with a reddish purple tube, winter to spring. Turkey, woodland clearings, rocky places and steppe up to 1600m. Wild plants are not robust and are best grown under glass. 'Golden Bunch' is a strong-growing cultivar.
