Botanical Description

Rootstock of small tubers. Stems rarely above 3cm high. Leaves small, sessile, grey. Flowers few, small, rose-pink. Siberia, east to the Canadian Rocky Mountains, in mossy tundra. Rare and not easy to please, needing a long cold winter rest and cool summers. Probably best in a rooting medium largely of acid humus.
