Rootstock a small segmented tuber. Stems 15-20cm long. Leaves and flowers like those of a more robust C. cashmeriana. Western Yunnan, in magnesium limestone grassland amongst alpine rhododendrons. Barely in cultivation, but recently a plant was raised to flowering size at the Edinburgh Royal Botanic Garden in a semi-shaded raised bed.
