Hogg ex Sweet. Clump-forming perennial similar to C. auriculata but with narrower leaves and only a small red-brown spot at the base of each ray floret. Southern and southeastern U.S.A., in prairies and amongst scrub. C.g. 'Goldfink' does not exceed 20cm and is a possible candidate for the larger rock garden.
