Perennial with habit of C. bungeana. Leaves narrowly lyrate-pinnatifid, the lobes shallower than in bungeana, glandular-hairy. Flowers in compact racemes, pink, purple or white, about 1cm in diameter, mid to late summer. Pakistan to Himachal Pradesh in the drier areas on stony slopes at 3300-5000m.
