Botanical Description

An erect annual to 30cm in height, sometimes more, branching in the upper part. Leaves ovate to oblong, 1-2.5cm long. Flowers generally 2-3cm wide, rose with red spots on a white throat, rarely all white. California, in dry scrub and open places below 850m. C. calycosum is similar but taller, in damp places from California to Texas and Mexico.
