perennial with unbranched stems, 10-20cm tall. Leaves narrowly lanceolate to linear. Floral bracts rounded in outline with one to two pairs of lobes, purple-tipped. Flowers up to 2cm long, the calyx purple-tipped, late summer. California, at 2000-2500m, in moist grassland and alpine fellfields.
