Recently introduced into cultivation. It forms low mats of branches bearing broadly ovate, ciliate leaves with transparent margins. Flowers large and globular. Kingdon-Ward collected this species under the numbers K.W. 1788 and K.W. 3366 in Upper Burma and Yunnan.
