Botanical Description

This tufted American spreads by slender rhizomes. Leaves lanceolate, sparsely toothed. Flowers almost widely funnel-shaped, solitary, or two to three, violet to purple, on decumbent to erect stems 10-20cm in length. Wyoming and Utah to New Mexico and Arizona, in montane and subalpine meadows and woodland margins.
