Tufted to small colony-forming, stems ascending to prostrate, 7-10cm in length. Leaves long-stalked, broadly ovate-cordate, toothed, 8-10mm long, sparingly pubescent. Flowers pale blue to violet, on short, erect stems, deeply lobed, funnel-shaped and pointing upwards. C.a. subsp adsurgens is densely pubescent with flowers which open out dat and star-like. North-western Spain, among limestone rocks in the mountains. C.a. 'Alba' has white flowers.
