Botanical Description

Stems less than 10cm, leaves few, narrowly lanceolate and ribbed or pleated. Flowers produced in succession from tightly sheathing spathes, about 3-4cm in diameter with six spreading, almost equal segments which are violet with a yellow base forming a bright yellow eye in the centre of the flower, spring or early summer. Chile in the region of Valparaiso.
