Botanical Description

Like C. sagittata but having broader, crenate leaves with the folds of the appendages almost parallel to the leaf stalks so that the leaf outline is cordate in effect. Flowers 1.6-1.8cm in diameter, always with five tepals. This is the most northerly and isolated development of the C. sagittata complex, and apparently still enjoys specific status. It is found solely on the volcanoes of Ecuador: Antisana and Cotopaxi.
