Height 10-30cm. Stem unbranched, often with one bulbil in the axil of the lowest leaf. Flowers one to five, erect, campanulate, white, often tinged with lavender, with a dark reddish blotch on each petal above the glands and a few short hairs. Each gland slightly depressed, irregular in shape and densely hairy. Middle to high elevations in the northern to central Sierra Nevada. Allied to C. nuttallii.
