Botanical Description

Gilli ex Benth. Rosette forming, 10-25cm tall, closely akin to C. umbellata from which it differs most obviously in the rounded apex to the lower lip (squared off in C. umbellata). Other differences include no fringe of white hairs on the leaf margins, blunt rather than acute calyx lobes and a slight upcurving of the more inflated lower lip. Argentina from Tucuman to Cordoba and Buenos Aires in mountain grassland up to 2700m.
