Botanical Description

Loose cushions to 15cm high and wide of usually long-stalked rosettes. Leaves ovate and acute, truncate at the base, thinnish-textured, divided almost to the base into three linear-oblong to linear-lanceolate segments which themselves frequently subdivide, each into two to seven narrow, unequal lobes. Peduncles to 4cm long bearing a compressed umbel of many whitish-yellow flowers 2mm, across surrounded by five to ten very narrow, pointed bracts. Chile and Argentina from the central cordilleras to southern Patagonia, at 100-2500m on the steppes and at the limit of vegetation in the mountains, especially along the margins of streams and lakes.
