Botanical Description

Loosely cushion-forming with thick stems covered with the sheaths and remains of old leaves. Petioles 2-10mm long, broad at the base and sheathing the stems; the blades themselves broadly-elliptic to narrowly lanceolate, 2-7mm long, truncate, two or three lobed at the tip and whiskery margined. Flowers pallid yellow in compressed umbels contained by a few 2-3mm narrow bracts. Patagonia to Tierra del Fuego in heath, scrubland, grassy moorland, sandy steppe and rock crevices.
