Botanical Description

or more extensive roundels 2-8cm high. Leaves glabrous and glaucous, narrow triangular, sharply pointed, entire or trifid, both leaf types occurring on the same plant. Flowers three to fourteen, small, yellow, contained within an involucre of two to six white triangular and pointed bracts, joined at the base. The species has been placed in Mulinum, which it resembles exactly when in flower, though not in fruit. Northern central and northern desert Cordilleras of Argentina and Chile at 3000-4000m.
