Tufted to clump-forming perennial with most leaves basal and long-stalked. Leaf blades to 1.5cm long, bipinnatisect. Flowerheads in racemes to 10cm tall, sometimes more. New Mexico to Montana and the Rocky Mountains, in stony places at high elevations.
