Botanical Description

Densely mat-forming from a stout woody base. Leaves linear, sdff, prickle-pointed, glaucous, l-2cm in length. Flowering stems 10-18cm in length. Flowers to 7mm in diameter, white, in loose cymes, summer. California to Nevada, Oregon, Montana and Utah, on rocky slopes often with sagebrush (Artemisia tridentata) or in juniper woodland at about 1300-2300m.
