Botanical Description

Tufted from a woody rootstock, the flowering stems 10-20cm tall. Leaves broadly spathulate, l-3cm long, mainly entire, pubescent. Flowers 6-9mm across, pink to red-purple, spring to early summer. California and Oregon, on dry slopes and ridges, often in thin pine or flr forest up to 2000m.
