Botanical Description

Height 20-70cm. Closely allied to A. canadensis and the taller A. formosa but the flowers are uniformly pale yellow in colour. Basal leaves bi- or triternate, leaflets l-4cm long. Flowers 1.2-3cm long and 2-4cm wide, spurs short and hooked. Rocky Mountains from British Columbia to Utah in south facing alpine meadows. An easily grown plant in sun or shade.
