Rosettes globular, to 5mm across on wild plants, but wider and looser in cultivation. Leaves elliptic, silky hairy at the tips. Flowers 4mm wide, white sometimes pink with a greenish or yellow eye, virtually stemless, one per rosette. Northern Himalaya to Tibet and China, above 3000m on dry earthy or shaly banks and among rocks and scrub.
