Botanical Description

An annual species forming a single rosette 2-7cm across. Leaves oblong-lanceolate to elliptic, toothed, more or less downy. Flowers 4-6mm in diameter, white or pink, in fairly compact umbels subtended by lanceolate bracts, on erect stems 8-25cm tall. Northern and central Europe to the south-western Alps and southern U.S.S.R., in dry, mainly open places.
