A stoloniferous species forming loose mats 20cm or more across. Rosettes 2-4cm wide, formed of dark green, arching linear to narrowly elliptic leaves. Flowers 10-12mm in diameter, white with a yellow eye, in loose umbels on stems 5-10cm or more in height. Each petal is broadly notched in the manner of a primrose. Alps, Tatras and Carpathians above 1000m, mainly among limestone rocks but also in screes and meadows.
