Botanical Description

in height. In overall appearance very much as A. spathulata, differing in its leaves with a fringe of hairs on the margins, its generally smaller open salver-shaped flowers with very broad, blunt obovate to elliptical outer segments 2.5-3cm long, clear rose-pink with red flecking over obscure yellow patch on the inner-upper two tepals only, rarely coral-pink or pure unmarked white, in umbels of two to ten. Chile, in the screes at the Cordillera de Santiago and northwards, also adjacent Argentina, at 2000-3000m. [Pl.12]
