Botanical Description

in height. Stem and foliage, at least the upper surfaces, covered in dense, fine down. Leaves twisted, glaucous narrowly lanceolate-linear. Flowers large, clear whitish-pink, funnel-shaped, the outer tepals obovate, the two inner-upper ones oblanceolate and standing out to 4-5.5cm like rabbits' ears, their prominent deep egg yolk yellow cross bands scarcely, if at all, freckled red. Chile, in the Atacama desert, from sea level to 1400m.
