Botanical Description

in height. Leaves smallish, oblanceolate or narrowly elliptical, fairly pointed flat rather than twisted but crisply wavy at the margins and downy on both sides. Flowers clear silvery pink with tepals 1.5-2cm long, the outer ones very broadly ovate to spathulate, the inner three very much narrower, the upper pair marked with a median cross band of egg yolk yellow freckled red. Chile, Coquimbo and Atacama, from desert to arid high alpine at 1150-3000m.
