Like A. carinatum subsp. pulchellum but with glaucous stems and leaves, and yellow flowers. A.f. 'Nanum', 'Pumilum' and var. minus are dwarf variants in the height range 10-20cm. Southern and central Europe to Turkey, on dry often rocky slopes up to about 600m. A.f. var. minus at alpine levels up to 2500m in Turkey.
