Botanical Description

Bulbs ovoid, sometimes forming small clumps. Stems flattened or winged 5-12cm high. Leaves more or less sickle-shaped, up to 25cm long by 4-9mm wide, thick-textured. Flowers narrowly bell-shaped, bright rose-purple, sometimes greenish-white tinted pink, in umbels of ten to thirty, summer. California and Oregon, in clearings in woodland and scrub over serpentine, stony or clay substrates.
