Bulbs ovoid, usually clustering. Stems 10-25cm high. Leaves narrowly linear, shorter than stems. Flowers bell-shaped, 7-10mm long, white aging pink with a mauve or pink central vein, in hemispherical umbels 2.5-5cm across, summer.
Turkey, Syria, Lebanon, Cyprus, in pine and mixed forest, oak, grassland, limestone slopes at 1000-2800m. A.c. var. hirtellum, syn. A. troodii, has pubescent leaves.
